What would you accomplish if you knew you couldn't fail?
Martial Art Forms you study:
Actively training in Hapkido, Taekwondo, Arnis Kali, Marshall Combatives, pressure points, have an open invitation to train in intermediate/advanced Krav Maga at Tampa Krav Maga, and returning soon to Progressive Fighting Arts/Kombat Arts Institute (Sifu Uy's school opening soon!).
I've been fortunate enough to train in the following arts/systems either as a full-time student, as a work-out partner with an instructor of the listed art/system, or as a seminar attendee:
Aikido (including Tenshin), Aiki-jujutsu, Arnis Kali, Escrima, Five Animal Kempo, Hapkido (including Sin Moo and Combat), Jeet Kune Do (Original and Concepts), Jiu-jitsu, Judo, Kenjutsu, Kenpo, Kickboxing, Krav Maga, Progressive Fighting Arts with the Kombat Arts Institute, Taekwondo, Tiger Claw Kung Fu, Torite-jutsu, Western Boxing, and Wing Chun (Ving Tsun) Gung Fu
I'm currently working on esoteric elements of the martial arts with Hanshi Stephen Kaufman of Dojo no Hebi Ryu. Hanshi Kaufman is author of 37 books including the Martial Artist’s Book of Five Rings and the definitive interpretation of Sun Tzu’s Art of War.
And I learned how to chuck-a-blade under the tutelage of my father and first instructor, Samuel J. Liverio. If you've never sliced an orange from 21 feet away, you just HAVEN'T had fun making juice. I now throw (and hit my targets) at 30 feet.
My formal instructors include (and have included) Grandmaster Yong Sung Lee, Master Dong K. Kim, Sifu Dominador Uy, Master Phil Peplinski, Grandmaster Frederico Lazo, and Master Frederick Lazo. It's been such a long road of fantastic people along the way. Hanshi Stephen Kaufman and Sijo Bruce Millsap (who've influenced me more than they probably know), Grandmaster Steve Lee Swift for making a Wing Chun believer out of me, and a very special thanks to Sensei Andy from the Florida School of Judo for showing me how much fun that art can be (although I only attended a handful of times).
There are the seminars: Guro Dan Inosanto at Frank Cucci's FDC (now Linx) in Virginia Beach, Eyal Yanilov at Tampa Krav Maga, Professor Gary Dill (I'm a repeat customer - LOVE his Anti-Terrorism stuff), the workouts with Kickboxing veteran champion Blackhawk (Walters) - can that guy move, Sensei Luis Santos, Master Pedro Rodriguez .... I've thought about naming them all, but ... sometimes it's better to be thankful in silence.
And the grandmasters and masters I've come to (very recently and very respectfully) call my friends: Grandmaster Billy Lee Burchett, Grandmaster Gary Keller, and Master Gary Hernandez.
Favorite Martial Artist:
There's no getting around the fact that Sifu Bruce Lee really got the ball rolling for me those many moons ago.
Favorite Color:
Depends.
Favorite type of music:
Big fan of music where the artists actually write their own songs.
Who you'd like to meet:
Internationally, it's a laundry list (Christmas list would be equally descriptive). Locally, I'd really like to meet and train with Ray Dianaldo and Ray Cole (actually met Ray Cole once, but we didn't train). I'd like to meet Stephen Chow and Todd Roy and the guys from Kwoon (worth checking out: http://www.kwoon.com).
Hobbies, Interests & Special Skills:
My interests include anything martial (notice the distinct spelling from the word marital - which is not entirely unrelated).
Brief description about you:
* Instructor Marshall Combatives

* 1st Dan Black Belt Hapkido
* 1st Dan Black Belt (Shodan) Torite-jutsu
